Action Alert - The Toxic Legacy of Pottstown Landfill

  • Families in the Greater Pottstown Area will face the consequences of Pottstown Landfill’s toxic legacy for decades, if not forever. Read about how WMI and DEP have failed to protect our air, water, soil and health.
  • DEP will issue a final permit for landfill closure this summer. What is currently planned is just not enough, but it's not too late to stand up for our health and environment.
  • For information on contacting DEP to voice your concerns over the "protection" meausres proposed for the Pottstown Landfill closure, contact ACE at (610) 326-6433.

Help Yourself, Your Children, and Your Community

  • Get Informed - Get Involved - Take Action. Together we must inform our neighbors, friends, and families about environmental issues, problems, and solutions.
  • Broad public awareness can make significant changes within government agencies and corporate board rooms. If you are too busy to be actively involved in ACE, you can still make a great difference by sharing the information you will receive as an ACE member.
  • Huge polluting corporations are making tremendous profits at our expense. The price we must pay is not only too high, it is completely unnecessary.
  • Our health is at risk from the excessive contamination of our air, water, and soil. We have a right to breathe safe, clean air. We deserve uncontaminated water and soil. No corporation has the right to lower our property values.
  • Our quality of life has already been compromised. Our government agencies have not been protective or responsible in their decisions. Many of our elected officials have chosen to ignore the facts and have lacked the courage to fight for our rights.
  • United effort, one person at a time, is the only way to stop the contamination of our air, water, and soil. We can no longer afford to be polite, apathetic, uninformed citizens.

Concern for Today is Hope for Tomorrow!

  • Children have the right to be born free of chemical contamination.
  • Children have the right to live, learn, and play in a toxic free environment.
  • Children can not protect themselves. It is our obligation to provide our children with safe air to breathe, safe water to drink, and safe food to eat.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Constitution states that you have a RIGHT to clean air, land and water!

But the PA DEP has issued pollution permits based on unprotective standards and regulations.

Your health and safety ARE AT RISK
